Notice of Annual General Meeting

Subscription Renewals

The 45th Annual General Meeting of your club will be held at the usual venue, the 3VA Annexe, off Saffrons Road, Eastbourne, at 7.30 pm on Friday 2nd June.

There is a map on the pool side notice board and also a form for nominations to the committee.

As well as electing the committee, the meeting will review our activities for the last year, receive the accounts and the club shield will be presented.

Refreshments will be available after the meeting, which usually lasts for less than an hour, and there will be a chance to look at the club photo albums and reports.

Fun Gala - Sunday 2nd April

Our Fun Gala this year was a very close contest with only a single point between the two teams.

Sian’s Blue Team came first with a total of 25 points. Well done Neil, Tina, Tom, Barbara and Shirley.

Giles’ Red Team finished second with 24 points.

Eastbourne Mayor, Pat Hearn, presented the medals, and Kate Smith awarded the Ann Gray Memorial Cup to Shirley.

We are very grateful for the help we receive from Eastbourne Lions who provide us with extra man/ women power, medals and the much anticipated picnic lunche.

Swimming on-line

Shopping online? Amazon, Argos, Boots, ebay, PC World and Tesco are amongst the online stores who donate through EasyFundraising. Raise money for our club without any extra cost to you by going to
and search for sovereigndisabledswimmingclub to register and start shopping.

At the last committee meeting it was agreed that subscriptions would be kept at £25 a year. This is very good value for up to 50 swims a year. Subscription renewal slips are enclosed. If you are a tax payer, please consider giving the club a gift aided donation. Bob has Gift Aid forms available. Alternatively, cash donations in the pool side collection box are also a tax efficient way for everyone, so consider putting a few coins in the collection box every week.

New Lockers

New lockers at Motcombe will take non-returnable 20p coins but there will be free baskets for poolside use.

Coffee Morning - 8th June

The British Queen PH at the Triangle, Willingdon, are holding a Coffee Morning and Raffle in aid of our Swimming Club from 10 am to 12 noon on Thursday 8th June. Please come and support this event.

Seafront Stroll - 5th August

To help raise funds for the Club, another Sponsored Seafront Stroll is planned for Saturday 5th August. This was a very successful event last year and we would like as many of you as possible to take part.
We will meet at Treasure Island car park at 10.30 am and walk to the Wish Tower and back to Treasure Island, in time for lunch at the Beach Deck Café. This is a social as well as a fund raising event so please come and join in. Sponsor forms will be available nearer the time or create your own at and search for Sovereign.
